These walks will take place at historical sites across the state, and the state’s Tourism Minister, Arvind Sharma, is inviting everyone to participate. Haryana Tourism To Organise Heritage & City Walks

The Haryana Tourism Department has come up with an amazing way to connect people to Haryana’s rich tradition and culture. The officials are organising ‘Heritage and City Walks’ on May 30 that will offer participants a chance to explore six historical sites across the state. These include Pinjore, Morni Region, Kurukshetra, Surajkund, Rewari and Ballabhgarh. Here’s what the participants would get to explore: 

  • Pinjore: Yadavindra Gardens, Gurudwara Manji Sahib, Bhima Devi Temple Site Museum
  • Morni Region: Historic Morni Fort
  • Kurukshetra: Jyotisar Tirth Sthal, the Sarovar, Virat Swaroop, Mahabharata Experience Centre Museum
  • Surajkund: A walk from Surajkund Reservoir to Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary
  • Rewari: Sandpiper Tourist Complex and Bada Talab
  • Ballabgarh: A walk from Raja Nahar Singh Palace to Rani Ki Chhatri

According to Hindustan Times, this programme is being hosted under the Haryana Tourism Corporation’s campaign, ‘Aao Chalen Apni Virasat Ke Saath’. The walk will begin at 6 am and conclude at 8 am. According to State Tourism Minister Arvind Sharma, the purpose of this heritage walk is not just sightseeing but also connecting people, especially the youth, with the state’s culture.

Heritage Walks Will Promote Haryana’s Culture And History

With these heritage walks in Haryana, you will not just get to explore beautiful historical sites but also learn about the traditions of the state. The initiative will also spark interest in history and culture among students, youth, and women. The entry for the Heritage and City Walks is open to the public, but participants will have to register in advance. There will be a fee of ₹500, which includes water, tea, coffee, caps, and refreshments. Heritage guides will also be present at the sites to give detailed information about their history.

According to Hindustan Times, the state government is working towards preserving, restoring, and developing Haryana’s heritage as a tourism attraction. More than ₹100 crore is being spent on the development, conservation, and beautification of heritage and tourism sites across Haryana.
