Telangana Plans Floating Restaurants And Luxury Houseboats
Dinners in floating restaurants sound so romantic, right? But to experience this, you may not need to plan a very expensive holiday, as Telangana has got so many things planned to boost its water tourism. According to The Hindu, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TGTDC) is inviting private agencies to develop and operate floating restaurants, dine-in cruise boats and luxury houseboats at six water bodies across the state.
These floating restaurants are planned at three water bodies in and around Hyderabad. These locations include Ibrahimpatnam Cheruvu, Kokapet Lake and Malkam Cheruvu. Each of these floating restaurants or dine-in cruises is expected to have a 100-person capacity, including passengers and crew.

Houseboats Planned With 3-Star Standards
According to The Hindu, TGTDC is also considering Nagarjuna Sagar, Somasila and Ramappa Lake for luxury houseboats with at least five bedrooms. The plan also includes developing the vessels, installing the furniture, electrical systems and other facilities needed to operate them. A minimum investment of ₹5 crore has been fixed for each facility at each location.
Moreover, it is mandatory for each vessel to meet at least three-star hotel and hospitality standards in terms of its interiors and amenities provided to guests. The project is still in its initial stages, but if everything goes as per the plan, then Telangana may soon become the next best spot to eat food while floating in a restaurant!
