Telangana is about to get a turbocharged rail makeover. Telangana’s railway network is set for a major upgrade as Indian Railways introduces two new Vande Bharat Express services, strengthening the state’s connectivity and travel efficiency. The Hyderabad-Pune and Secunderabad-Nanded routes will significantly cut travel time, offering passengers faster, more comfortable, and more modern journeys. With these additions, Hyderabad consolidates its position as a key hub in India’s semi-high-speed rail network. This expansion not only responds to rising passenger demand but also captures the growing importance of South Central Railway on the national rail map.
Two New Vande Bharat Trains To Boost Telangana’s Rail Network
According to One India, Indian Railways has announced two brand-new Vande Bharat Express trains: one zooming between Hyderabad and Pune, and the other connecting Secunderabad and Nanded. Passengers can look forward to slashing journey times by two to three hours, turning what used to be a long, tiring ride into a swift and semi-high-speed trip. This will also make it the third Vande Bharat link between Hyderabad and Maharashtra, joining the Hyderabad-Nagpur service.
At present, Hyderabad already boasts four Vande Bharat trains, but these additions will cement the city’s status as a semi-high-speed rail hub, especially for travellers heading to Maharashtra.
The move comes after passengers provided positive feedback and showed immense enthusiasm for routes like Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Secunderabad-Tirupati, and Kacheguda-Yeshvantpur. Clearly, the Railways are taking notes and responding to demands.
All You Need To Know
With these launches, the South Central Railway (SCR) will operate seven Vande Bharat Express trains, one of the highest counts among all zones, highlighting the region’s growing importance in India’s rail map.
Meanwhile, the Secunderabad-Pune Shatabdi Express, currently a six-day-a-week service (excluding Tuesdays) that takes eight and a half hours and carries two AC executive class coaches, nine AC chair cars, and two EOG coaches, is also set to get a Vande Bharat makeover, as stated by One India.
And there’s more on the horizon: the Secunderabad-Muzaffarpur Amrit Bharat Express is expected to launch within a month, giving long-distance travellers yet another high-speed option. Taken together, these moves signal a bold leap toward faster, smarter, and far more passenger-friendly rail travel in Telangana.
