A Tempo Traveller carrying 18 passengers went off the road near Jyolikot’s Aam Padav area. The vehicle then fell around 15 metres into a deep gorge. Two people died on the spot, whereas several others suffered injuries, reported PublicTV.

The rescue operation started immediately after authorities received the alert. The accident happened on the night of November 1. More About The Fatal Incident

According to PublicTV, when the SDRF team reached the spot in Uttarakhand, they found the Tempo Traveller lying nearly 15 metres below the road on a steep slope. The rescue unit carefully entered the gorge and pulled out 15 injured passengers one after another. All the injured were then sent to Haldwani Hospital. Two passengers, however, had already died on the spot, and their bodies were handed over to the police for further formalities.

SDRF confirmed that one passenger is still missing. Teams are continuing the search operation in the area because the terrain is uneven and risky. Authorities are checking every possible spot in the gorge to make sure no one is left behind.

To avoid such accidents, it is advisable to avoid late-night travel and choose daytime travel instead.
