New Menu Introduced On Thiruvananthapuram-Kasargod Vande Bharat
According to a report by The Financial Express, IRCTC has recently launched a new menu for the Vande Bharat train running between Thiruvananthapuram and Kasargod in Kerala. This train service offers three types of menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner on different days. Now, as per the formal notice issued by the railway authorities, the train will serve more local flavours to its passengers.
Breakfast options on the Vande Bharat train in Kerala will feature several South Indian delicacies. Passengers will have a choice to select from three options:
- Option 1: Idli, vada, sambar and unniyappam
- Option 2: Idiyappam, Bengal gram curry, vada and tea cake
- Option 3: Mixed vegetable upma, vada, sambar, chutney and vattayappam

Lunch & Dinner Menu Also Includes Local Specialities
According to The Financial Express, the lunch and dinner vegetarian menu will also include dishes like ghee rice, wheat porotta, dal curry, thoran and even fruit truffle. Sounds amazing, right? For non-vegetarians, there are three options for breakfast as well. These include:
- Option 1: Scrambled egg, two vegetable cutlets, unniyappam and bread roll
- Option 2: Idiyappam, egg roast, vada and tea cake
- Option 3: Scrambled egg, masala bun, two vegetable cutlets and vattayappam
Lunch and dinner for non-vegetarians will include ghee rice with chicken in roasted coconut gravy, matta rice with Malabar chicken curry and even chicken biryani. Reportedly, this new menu has received a positive response from passengers. Honestly, who wouldn’t love to relish some local flavours while travelling through Kerala, right?
