India has always been one of the must-visit countries on many travellers’ lists. Tourists often take to social media to share both the good and the bad experiences from their journeys. Recently, one such video caught our attention. A Canadian tourist shared her experience at New Delhi Railway Station while travelling to Varanasi. Scroll down to know more!
Canadian Tourist’s Awful Experience At Delhi Station
Canadian tourist Klaudia Falenta (@klauditravels), on her solo trip in India, was travelling by train from Delhi to Varanasi on her fifth day. She booked an Uber from her hotel to the station. On her way inside the station, a man approached her and asked to see her ticket. However, he was not a ticket collector but a scammer. He kept urging her to buy another ticket from a distant office, claiming her ticket was invalid.
To get rid of him, the tourist showed her other tickets and told him that her current ticket looked the same as the others. Realising he couldn’t trick her into buying a new ticket, the man finally let her go. She then had to run, as only ten minutes were left before her train departed. While running, she said, “he tried to straight-up scam me.” However, later, she was relieved that her train platform was just a staircase away and got into her train on time.

Tourist’s Experience In Varanasi
Klaudia’s train journey from Delhi to Varanasi took eight hours. During the trip, she met a lovely family who shared some must-visit spots in the city. After arriving at Varanasi station, she noted that everything felt relaxed, even though many people approached her offering tuk-tuk services. She decided to take an Uber instead and got ready to explore the city.
During her visit, Klaudia was eager to witness the sunrise ceremony at the Ganga River. Although she was in a rush to edit her video, she shared glimpses of the ritual and explained some of its deeper meanings. Knowing the river’s significance, she admitted that she found the water unsettling, as it contains bodies, yet she lit a diya and floated it on the river. She reflected that her wish might not come true, but she was there to experience and understand the energy of this holy river.
