In the metro, ladies’ coaches are dedicated to ensuring that women feel safe and comfortable during their journey. However, it seems stricter action may be needed, as a video is going viral online showing more men than women inside a Delhi Metro ladies’ coach. Read on to know more!

Delhi Metro’s Ladies Coach Has More Men Than Women

Content creator Mehak Sharma (@mehaksharmaa13) recently shared a video showing the situation inside Delhi Metro’s ladies’ coach. In the video, she said she was travelling towards New Delhi and had boarded the ladies’ coach. However, she was surprised to see the crowd inside, with several men occupying the coach alongside women.

The video showed more men than women inside the coach. Mehak and another woman said they even asked the men to move to another coach, but they refused to leave. Sharing the video on social media, the two women raised concerns about the situation and urged the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to pay attention.

Internet Reacts To The Video

The video showing the crowd inside the Delhi Metro’s ladies’ coach has gone viral online, with several people raising concerns in the comments section.

One user wrote, “Please understand, sometimes the situation is different. You should ask why these guys enter the women’s coach. They will give you the right answer. Note that you should be polite to everyone. Try this next time.”

Another user commented, “Hi! I am so sorry for all the hate you’re getting. I hope you were able to complain about this. The women’s coach was made for a reason – our sense of safety and security. It’s tragic that we’re lacking that. I hope you won’t pay any heed to the negative comments and this video reaches a better audience and the appropriate authorities. Sending lots of love :)”

“Girl, that’s their everyday routine, to show up in the women’s coach,” one comment read.

One user complained, “Reserved spaces help protect women from sexual harassment and uncomfortable crowding in general compartments. Men create problems, then cry about it once we find a solution.”

We hope DMRC take this situation seriously!
