In India, Holi is one of the most loved festivals, not just for kids but for adults too. It’s that time of the year when everyone brings out their playful side, throws colours, splashes water, and pulls harmless pranks on friends and family. But it seems like the festive vibe was missing in one city, Bengaluru. An X user recently shared her frustration about it on social media. Scroll down to know what happened!

Viral Post On How Bengaluru Looked On Holi

Taking to her social media handle, Vanshita (@yourswriterly) shared what Holi looked like in Bengaluru. In her post, she said that when she stepped out around 1 pm, the city felt like a normal day. She did not see people playing with colours on the streets. She also noticed that there were no children throwing water balloons and no colours on the street. Because of this, she called the city “boring” when it comes to festivals.

The post about how Bengaluru looked on Holi quickly went viral online. Many people shared their reactions in the comments section, which sparked a fresh debate on social media.

Netizens React To The Post

As soon as the post started circulating online, many users jumped into the comments section to share their views and personal experiences.

One user wrote, “Frankly, Holi has lost much of its charm in most of the country. Yes, there are pockets where people celebrate, but it’s mostly in closed societies or parties. It’s not like the earlier days when it felt more open and fun.

Another user commented, “South Indians don’t really celebrate Holi. Keep in mind you’re in Kannada land. We don’t celebrate it as much, especially Holi. These days, people mostly gather for music or DJs, that’s it.” This comment highlights the cultural difference in festival traditions between regions of India.

One more user wrote, “With all due respect, Holi was never really a thing for us South Indians. It’s like asking why North India doesn’t celebrate Varamahalakshmi Vratha.”

Another user simply agreed with Vanshita and commented, “I know, right.” Some users clearly related to Vanshita’s observation and felt the celebrations were less visible.
