This week’s episode of Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani, our editor-in-chief, was less about the clock and more about indulgence, and Tamannaah Bhatia and Diana Penty made sure of it. Plates of juicy prawns, dal makhani so creamy it could make you weep, buttery garlic naans, and the ever-decadent butter chicken disappeared almost as fast as the laughter around the table.
Tamannaah Bhatia’s Favourite Thing About Shooting “Do You Wanna Partner?”
Between bites, the conversation meandered toward their latest venture on “Do You Wanna Partner?,” where the two take on the roles of business partners navigating the messy and thrilling world of startups.
On being asked about their favourite part of shooting, Tamannaah’s excitement was contagious. “The research!” she said, eyes sparkling. She dived headfirst into how startups work, what makes a business tick, and all the tiny things that usually go unnoticed. She said that, “We gave very serious information very nonchalantly.” Every detail mattered, and she mentions that she loved that process. Diana jumped in immediately, nodding like a co-conspirator. There’s something magical about two best friends trying to start a business; her words could tell. “We knew each other so well – our strengths, our weaknesses – it made portraying that partnership easy.”

Friendship And Business
The storyline mirrors that camaraderie. Tamannaah Bhatia’s character is suddenly kicked out of her job, while Diana’s is trapped in a role she despises. On screen, they channel their frustrations into a quirky craft-beer business. It’s about building something meaningful and just… going for it. For women, especially, it’s liberating and inspires them that they can take charge even when life throws curveballs.
When asked if she would ever team up with her own best friend to start a business, Tamannaah laughed and practically bounced in her seat. “I’d totally do it.” Then came the cheeky twist: her own business proposal had actually been shot down by her best friend. So clearly, real-life partnerships can be just as dramatic as on-screen ones! The playful banter between the two made it easy to picture them as actual business partners: full of trust, humour, and occasional clashes.
From decadent food to candid insights about entrepreneurship, the brunch was a cocktail of indulgence and inspiration. Watching Tamannaah and Diana share their “Do You Wanna Partner” experience wasn’t just fun; it was a gentle, gleeful reminder that sometimes, the best ventures are born from friendship, laughter, and a touch of audacity.
