From yoga teachers to chefs to students, thousands of Indians will now get quick entry to Australia as Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi signs India- Australia Trade Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (PTI) with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in a virtual signing ceremony. Be it quick entry or post-study visa, Indians can get access to them quickly as Australia signs the bilateral trade agreement.
1000 Work And Holiday Visa
The students completing their masters will get a 3-year post-study work visa while the ones with doctoral work will be given 4 years. The ones pursuing diploma courses can get visas for 18 months after the course. For a bachelor’s degree, they get 2 years of post-study work visa. The millennials are people between the age group 18-30 years who can get work and holiday visas with 1000 such visas promised by Australia yearly.
Bilateral Trade Agreement, A Major Gain
Officials described the visa concessions as a major win for India, which it sought via its agreements with ASEAN, Japan, and South Korea, but did not succeed. To negotiate its trade treaty with the UK, the government intends to use the ECTA. U.K. and Australia have similarly agreed to waive visa requirements.
Recognition Of Indian Medical Professionals
Mutual recognition agreements for professionals will make sure that the qualifications of Indian medical professionals are recognised in Australia. Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal revealed that they are planning to finalise these agreements in the near future.
