These US Visa Applicants In India Would Not Need To Undergo In-Person Interview

Want to apply for a U.S visa? Now you might skip the in-person interview if you fall into certain categories, as notified by a senior United States diplomat. According to a PTI report, Joe Biden’s Advisor for Asian Americans, Ajay Jain Bhutoria, informed that the move will help students, professionals, and immediate family members and will smoothen their visa application process. To identify the eligible applicants, the U.S. embassy will issue over 20,000 extra waiver appointments in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad for Spring 2022.

Who Are Applicable For U.S. Visa Applications Without In-Person Interviews?

U.S visa applicants belonging to the following categories do not need to undergo in-person interviews to get visas:

  • Students applying for F, M, and academic J visas
  • Workers applying for H-1, H-2, H-3, and individual L visas
  • Culture and extraordinary ability candidates applying for O, P, and Q visas

They Must Have Been Issued U.S Visa Earlier

To be eligible for the visas, the applications need to remember the following:

  • They must have been granted a visa category in the United States previously.
  • They had never been denied a visa to the United States before.
  • The applicants are not visa-ineligible or potentially visa-ineligible.
