The Indian Embassy in the UAE has posted a notice warning Indian nationals against visa/migration processing agencies that are indulging in fraudulent practices. This comes as the Embassy of India, which is in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have received complaints from citizens against these agencies. These agencies are operating outside India, including the UAE, and promote third-country employment/resident visa services. They often operate through social media advertisements, and here’s what they are warning against.

Indian Embassy In The UAE Warns Citizens Against Fraudulent Visa Agencies

The Indian Embassy in the UAE is warning its citizens against fraudulent visa and migration processing agencies. They operate through social media advertisements and collect fees from applicants. After this, they failed to deliver services or refund. As a result, they have asked the international community to exercise utmost caution with such advertisements.

They asked people not to rely on social media advertisements or blindly believe private visa processing agencies. Moreover, they’ve been asked to verify directly with the concerned embassy or consulate of the country they wish to visit. They’ve also been asked never to pay the amount based on a promise of visa approval. After all, no agency can ever guarantee a visa, and it is based on a decision of the government only.

For updated visa information, applicants must always consult the government or embassy websites of the country, instead of relying on third parties.

Not The First Time The Embassy Has Warned Indian Nationals

This development comes after the Indian Embassy recently issued a warning against unauthorised agents offering passport, visa and attestation services. This was released by them a few months ago, wherein they urged the public to steer clear of anyone who claimed to represent Indian missions outside the official channel.

In the advisory, which it posted on its official social media, the Embassy made it clear that all the appointments, which include those for passport, visa attestation or otherwise, should go through a dedicated portal. Moreover, they must note that booking an appointment through the official portal is free. No third party is authorised to charge a person a single dirham or arrange their appointments on their behalf.

So with scammers coming up with new ways to fool people, it is important that they pay extra attention to such advertisements as they can often be misleading.
