What Is Kartik Purnima?

Kartik Purnima takes place on the 15th of Kartik month. It is on November 27 this year. According to the Drik Panchang, the Purnima tithi will begin on November 26 at 3:53 pm and end on November 27 at 2:45 pm.

Kartik Purnima includes the ancient practice of Kartik Snan, which consists of a purifying bath at sunrise and moonrise in pilgrimage places. Devotees adore Lord Vishnu with flowers, diyas, and incense, and they frequently observe a fast and recite the Satyanarayan Vrat Katha. This auspicious day also recalls Lord Vishnu and Devi Vrinda’s heavenly marriage, commemorated through the Kartik Purnima Mela, which culminates with devotees seeking salvation through a sacred bath in Pushkar Lake.

Devotees observe specific ceremonies to commemorate this important event. The day begins with a bath in the early morning, preferably in a holy river. If this is not possible, taking a bath at home with Ganga water is also considered auspicious.

Kartik Purnima has enormous religious and spiritual significance in Hindu mythology. The devotees are blessed if they observe Kartik Snan (bath) and worship Lord Vishnu on this day. Additionally, it is considered one of the most favourable periods for religious ceremonies.

By encouraging tourism and business, these special trains contribute to overall economic activity throughout the festival season.
