Indian Railways Bans These Items On Trains During Festive Period. Passengers, Take Note!

The festive season is around the corner and this time there are more reasons for it to celebrate it more extravagantly as it is falling on a long weekend. The excitement to go back to their hometowns is gleaming in everyone’s eyes. But with a such huge number of passengers travelling, the authorities have to be extra careful. The Indian Railways has enlisted a new set of guidelines to be taken into consideration while traveling in trains. The guidelines involve a list of prohibited items passengers cannot have on board.

The new guidelines state that no inflammable items can be carried on board by passengers. This is to avoid any unforeseen activities amongst huge crowds.

The West Central Railway tweeted that items such as firecrackers, petrol, diesel, or other high-risk items can cause risk to human lives and hence, cannot be travelled with. There is also a ban on carrying gas stoves or ovens. The trains are also declared complete non-smoking zones.

The authorities also said that carrying these items is a punishable offense and will lead to serious consequences. The passengers found with these items will be fined a penalty of ₹1,000 and can also be jailed for three years.

Special Trains For Festive Season

The authorities have announced special trains to cater to the increased demand and avoid the extra rush of passengers. The Mumbai-Mangaluru Junction Weekly Special train will depart from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 22:15hrs every Friday from 21 October 2022 to 11 November 2022. A special train will operate from Mangaluru Junction to Lokmanya Tilak Terminus every Saturday. Similarly, two special trains are announced on the Ahemdabad-Okha route.

The authorities have also announced many other special trains across various destinations to ease travel.  Before you book your travel, remember to check special trains on your route. Plus, IRCTC has many exciting itineraries and packages for the festive season.
