India’s First Bullet Train: Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project Gets First 70m Steel Bridge

You must have heard about the first bullet train in India. If not, we are here to share all the information and progress of this much-awaited project. Construction of the bullet train, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor is taking place in full swing at a rapid speed. There are plans to operate the train from August 2026, shared by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

India’s First Bullet Train Project Sees A Notable Milestone!

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, Darshana Jardosh, the Union State Minister of Railways, shared some pictures of the marvellous achievement of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor.

Recently, the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited established an important breakthrough after erecting the first-ever steel bridge. According to the post by Darshana Jardosh (@DarshanaJardosh), the bridge is constructed ‘over a section of National Highway-53 in Surat for Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor’. It is as long as 70 metre. This landmark is an incredible part of the much-awaited Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor.

The plan of the humongous project is to construct not 10 or 20, but 28 steel bridges. A report by Zee News states that about 70,000 metric tons of specified steel in estimation is going to be used for building the steel bridges. For the bullet train project, the bridges are coming up in different lengths. Starting from 60 metre, the plan is to extend the length by 230 (130 + 100) metre.

With almost 700 pieces and 673 metric tonnes, the structure is getting ready at the Hapur district’s workshop in Uttar Pradesh.

Construction In Full Swing!

Back in the month of July, the Ministry of Railways (@RailMinIndia) shared a picture of the progress of the bullet train on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

Several crucial steps are followed to develop the steel bridges for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. Japanese engineers have worked on the plans for the construction and steps such as cutting, drilling, welding, and painting are included, according to a report by the Financial Express. All these processes are followed in cutting-edge steps.
