Do you know India is getting its first bullet train? The construction of the nation’s first bullet train is going on in full swing. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor is a big-budget project of the government and it will be ready to run within the next couple of years. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that the plans are to start operating it in August 2026, according to a report by LiveMint.

Taking to Twitter, the Ministry of Railways (@RailMinIndia) shared a picture of the ongoing progress of the bullet train.

This snippet shows the progress of the bullet train in India. The picture is clicked from a top angle covering a huge area around the project in the Anand district of Gujarat. The train is getting ready to span longer distances.

Here Are Some Necessary Details About The Upcoming Bullet Train:

  • Indian Railways is behind this crucial upcoming project that is about to revolutionise the country’s rail transportation facilities.
  • India’s first bullet train is going to run between Mumbai in Maharashtra and Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
  • The route of this project is about 508 km.
  • The entire project is costing somewhere near ₹2 lakh crore.
  • The present goal is to start running the train by August 2026. Once it starts operating, the aim is to expand the services to an extended and larger section in the next year, 2027.
  • This project has recorded a physical progress of 33.68 per cent, according to a report by Times Now News. The target was to reach 35.97 per cent.

The project has come across a few issues in between. It is true that this vital process is being developed with a proper timeline in mind but there have been a few delays. The swings in Japanese Yen and its impact turned out to be a worry and the budget of the project even skyrocketed due to this.

Updates On The River Bridges Of Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor:

The working team built 3 river bridges in the month of June 2023. In half a year, they have completed a total of 4 bridges, according to a report by Economic Times. The corridor is going to have a total of 24 river bridges. Out of these, 4 are coming up in Maharashtra and 20 are coming up in Gujarat.
