India’s First-Ever Amrit Sarovar Comes Up In Uttar Pradesh To Combat Water Scarcity

Uttar Pradesh now houses India’s first-ever Amrit Sarovar. The Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh inaugurated the Sarovar on 13 May 2022 in the Rampur district. Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi stated that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspired and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath guided in every step to construct the stunning Amrit Sarovar.

What Is The Amrit Sarovar?

Uttar Pradesh has tons of ponds all around and the government will work on one pond in the state. It took almost ₹60,00,000 to construct the area and the pond. This Amrit Sarovar will play a huge role in conserving and preserving water to prevent the risk of scarcity.

Naqvi stated that the cooperation of the people of Patwai, the gram panchayat, and the district administration helped to construct the Sarivar in a ‘record’ short period. He also shared that the Sarovar will have the facility of boating and other entertainment facilities.
