Bharat Gaurav trains are theme-based tourist circuit trains which the Government of India in association with the Ministry of Railways has come up with. The goal is to showcase to the people of India and the world India’s rich cultural heritage and magnificent historic sites. The train is now on its way to becoming the first to cross the international border into a neighbouring country from India.
India To Nepal: Ramayana Yatra
‘Bharat Gaurav’, India’s first tourist train is all set to travel to Nepal as a part of the theme of the Ramayana Yatra as announced by The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The train will depart from New Delhi on June 21 and travel all the way to Nepal. In Nepal, there are many destinations associated with Lord Rama such as Dhanusha Pahar, Baawan Bigha Kshetra and Ma Janki Janmasthali Mandir and Shri Ram Vivah Sthal and the tourist train will cover them all. Nepal said in a letter that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Nepal, avail themselves of this occasion to reaffirm to the Embassy of India in Kathmandu their highest regard.

Bharat Gaurav Will Also Cover Indian States
The Bharat Gaurav is scheduled to travel to Nepal as well as a number of states in India along the Ramayana Circuit. The Ramayana Circuit is part of the Ministry of Tourism’s Swadesh Darshan scheme, which promotes pilgrimage sites associated with Lord Ram. In an 8000km tour, the train will cover Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, as well as 12 major cities like Ayodhya, Hampi, Buxar, Bhadrachalam, Janakpur, Kanchipuram, Sitamarhi, Rameshwaram, Kashi, Hampi, Nasik, Prayag and Chitrakoot. The cost per person will be around ₹65,000 and the train will have a capacity of 600 passengers.
