PM Modi will inaugurate the Vande Metro in Gujarat on September 16. In addition to flagging off the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, he will also unveil a few Vande Bharat trains. Indian Railways officially renamed the much-anticipated train as Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Ahead of the grand flagging-off event in Gujarat, let’s take a look at the necessary details of this fascinating metro connection.
India’s first Vande Metro will connect Ahmedabad with Bhuj. Covering multiple stops between the journeys, the train will run at a maximum speed of 110 kilometres per hour. The total distance between these bustling cities in Gujarat is 360 kilometres. Passengers travelling on Namo Bharat Rapid Rail can travel between Ahmedabad and Bhuj in only 5 hours and 45 minutes.
After the inauguration on September 16, the metro train will start operating on September 17. Vande Metro will begin its journey from Bhuj to Ahmedabad at 5:05 AM six days a week except on Saturdays. Passengers will reach Ahmedabad at 10:50 AM. The train will depart Ahmedabad at 5:30 PM and arrive in Bhuj at 11:20 PM. The operations from Ahmedabad to Bhuj will be available from Monday to Saturday.

According to a report by NDTV, the metro train journey will stop at nine stations. Passengers can board the Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro at Anjar, Gandhidham, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya, and Sabarmati metro stations.
India’s first Vande Metro is equipped with automatic sliding doors, mobile charging points, air-conditioned coaches, CCTV, fire detection system, fire extinguishing system, the Kavach train collision avoidance system, route indicators, washrooms with vacuum evacuation, LED lights, and more.

As of now, there is no official announcement on the exact ticket prices to travel between Bhuj and Ahmedabad on Namo Bharat Rapid Rail. Including GST, the minimum ticket fare has been finalised at ₹30. Each ticket price to travel between Bhuj and Ahmedabad is likely to be about ₹430, according to reports. This excludes GST. Also, there will be weekly, fortnightly, and monthly season ticket options. The rates will be equivalent to ₹7, ₹15, and ₹20 respectively for each journey.
There is no need to book metro tickets in advance like Vande Bharat Express. Passengers can simply book tickets and catch the metro. According to a report by Jagran Josh, commuters can purchase metro tickets and board the train even right before the train leaves a station.
