Travelling on flights can be nerve-wracking. A number of things can go wrong during the journey. However, what happened to this passenger is certainly a different kind of awful. It might just be the first time where a passenger was given the seat they paid for, but no cushion! Yes! You read that right! An IndiGo passenger who recently travelled from Pune to Nagpur was assigned a seat which had a missing cushion!

IndiGo has made quite a few headlines lately. From delayed flights to dissatisfied flyers, it has been the subject of a lot of scrutiny. And this recent incident just makes things worse. Recently, Sagarika Patnaik was headed to Nagpur from Pune on an IndiGo flight. When she reached her seat, she was surprised to see that the cushion itself was missing!
According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, Sagarika’s husband, Subrat Patnaik said that when the crew member initially told about the missing cushion, they just asked her to look for it below the seat. However, there wasn’t any cushion below the seat. Since people were boarding and Sagarika couldn’t take her seat, it created significant trouble for others who were boarding.
Upon urging the crew member again, they got a cushion from one of the spare unoccupied seats and gave it to Sagarika. Subrat then took to the micro-blogging website X (formerly known as Twitter) to vent his frustration at the situation. The flight was numbered 6E 6798 as per the post. The caption along with the image said that it was the best way to increase profit!
Here’s How Netizens Reacted To The Post
May be its a trial. Sooner or later Indigo may start charging 250-500 for cushions

If the Internet is good at one thing, it is finding humour in situations. This incident afforded plenty of opportunities for Netizens to crack jokes. One of the commenters said that maybe it was a trial run for a new program and soon, they’d start charging ₹250 or ₹500 per cushion to flyers! As funny as the comment is, imagine if an airline actually started doing that!
So that the passenger does not fall asleep.😂😂😂

One commenter even said that the cushionless seat was just a trick so that the passenger doesn’t fall asleep during the flight and stays alert! If that’s true, maybe they should offer flyers free coffee or tea so that they stay alert!
Hi, that’s certainly not good to see. At times, the seat cushion gets adrift from its Velcro. The same can be repositioned with the help of our crew. Further, your feedback will be shared with the concerned team for review. Hope to serve you better in the future. ~Enna
