Inside Patanjali Gurukulam In Haridwar Where Vedic And Modern Education Come Together

In the latest episode of Stories From Bharat, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani met the dynamic duo Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, the great minds behind the Patanjali empire. They invited us to explore the massive Patanjali Yogpeeth and while we were there, we got a chance to visit the Gurukulam there and it was truly impressive. Scroll on to know more about this school and what the kids are taught there.

Inside Patanjali’s Gurukulam In Haridwar

Inside the Patanjali Yogpeeth in Haridwar, you will find everything from a massive megastore and wellness centre to a research centre and hospital. What caught our attention was Patanjali’s Gurukulam. To begin with, the school is so massive that you won’t even guess it’s an education centre at first glance. While she was visiting the place, Kamiya found that kids learn about the Ayurvedic way of life while they are studying in this one-of-a-kind school.

Patanjali Gurukulam focuses on holistic education and teaches young minds how to use traditional Indian values in modern day-to-day life. Besides Hindi and Sanskrit, kids are taught various foreign languages like English, German, French, and even Spanish here. The teachers focus on character building and teaching the kids Indian moral values.

Besides education, the physical well-being of the students is also a key focus at Patanjali Gurukulam. They learn yoga, karate, taekwondo, skating, wrestling, boxing, and even archery. Besides modern education, they also teach kids about Vedic education. While interacting with the students, Kamiya found that they all were as fluent in foreign languages as they were in Vedic chants.

We even tried the sattvic food served at the Prasadam halls at Patanjali Yogpeeth and it was delicious. Prepared without onion and garlic, the food is simple but tasty. People here believe that food is medicine and that’s why they even use less oil and spices in the food.
