A branch of Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) has come up in Kargil to encourage the talent and aspirations of the local youth. The launch of IISM, Kargil is one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Tourism on the National Tourism Day 2021, celebrated on January 25. Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Union MoS (IC) Ministry of Tourism and Culture has inaugurated the National Events of Adventure Tourism 2021 ( NEAT 2021) in Kargil on January 24. For the first time in the history of Independent India, the National Tourism Day is being celebrated at Kargil to explore the untapped potential of the local youth and promoting it as a world-class adventure sports destination. Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) Comes Up In Kargil
A branch of Indian Institute of Skiing and Mountaineering (IISM) has come up in Kargil on January 25, 2021, on the occasion of the National Tourism Day aiming to make India self-reliant or Atma Nirbhar. It aims to make Kargil a thoughtfully planned world-class adventure sports destination by nurturing local talent through the best of education in the field of mountaineering, skiing, ice hockey and other winter sports.

The Authorities Are Unveiling Kargil’s Immense Potential For Winter Tourism
Prahlad Singh Patel has shared a Tweet which states, “With a pledge of presence in Kargil on Tourism Day, here is a moment of spiritual bliss. Kargil will benefit from good opportunities for winter tourism. It has the potential to be represented internationally.
