Prayagraj District Magistrate Ravindra Mandar has denied rumours that claim Maha Kumbh is being extended in Prayagraj due to heavy footfall. And this is not surprising as the schedule of the event is determined on the basis of religious muhurat, which is auspicious timing. These are unchangeable! In fact, the location also is determined by astronomical calculations, which remain unchanged. It should be noted that Maha Kumbh will end on February 26, which has been decided under such calculations.

Closure Of Prayag Sangam Station A Routine Practice

Administration as instructed by Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath is ensuring that there is smooth travel and other arrangements for the devotees. Moreover, there are no proposals from the government or the district administration that reveal any extension of mela dates. There is also a focus on traffic management to maintain the balance between the movement of devotees and the normalcy of life in the city.

This development comes at a time when there are claims of railway station closures circulating online. Yes, after all the closure of Prayag Sangam Station at Daraganj on peak days is a routine practice. This is done as it is located near the Mela site. Moreover, it is done to prevent overcrowding. However, all the other railway stations are fully operational. This means you must plan to visit the mela before it ends this February!
