And it’s not just us, even Chef Avinash Martins of Cavatina—the restaurant that has hosted even Sachin Tendulkar—fame agrees. Chef Avinash Martins shared a heart-touching moment when he dined with farmers who lovingly served him a home-cooked meal for Ganeshotsav, leaving him with tears of joy. Here’s more to it.

Chef Avinash Martins took to Instagram to share a special reel of his Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. The renowned Goan chef with restaurants like Cavatina and Table In The Hills to his credit celebrated the festive season in a unique but heart-touching manner. His favourite farmer, Kush, invited him to his home.

And the Goan chef happily obliged and dined with the farmer community. In the video, Avinash Martins is seated wearing a white kurta-pajama. He has a banana leaf filled with home-cooked traditional delicacies on it. Avinash Martins exclaimed “They are humble people. They don’t have much but they have a heart which is so giving. I can feel all the energy. I can feel all the love in their smiles and in their food, which I am about to relish any moment”.

Dressed in colourful saris, decked in simple jewellery wearing bright smiles on their faces, the women folk serve the freshly cooked food to the Chef and other guests. Avinash Martins shares a close-up of his meal. You can spot a hot modak, rice, beans sabzi, carrot salad, puris, pickle and other gravies. The Goan Chef said the food is delicious without any extra masalas in it.

“In no time, our banana leaf patras were empty. And we thank the farmer community for bringing this love to us. And wish them well and good health and prosperity into their lives.” In his caption too, he called it an “unexplainable meal”. The Chef was lost for words.

He said that the farmer community are they people they often buy produce and bargain with. So, it brings him to tears to see them giving food with such a big heart. He wished Lord Ganesha bless them abundantly with good health and prosperity for future generations as well.
