Amid all the magnificent festivities, a stampede-like situation was reported at the iconic ISKCON temple in Patna on Janmashtami evening. Here’s what happened.
Devotees Visited ISKCON Temple In Patna & Created A Stampede-Like Situation
Videos of a huge number of devotees thronging the temple and its surroundings are making rounds on social media platforms. Netizens have shared clips of a massive rush of people at the ISKCON temple last evening. Here are some videos shared on the X platform.

Multiple videos from Monday evening are circulating on social media platforms. There was indeed a vast crowd outside the ISKCON temple as everyone thronged here to visit the temple and offer prayers on this sacred festival. Some devotees even fell on the ground while trying to wait outside. Security teams helped them during such moments.

Police officials had to take steps to manage the humongous rush of devotees at the ISKCON temple. Rajeev Mishra, Patna SSP, stated that some people might have been injured, according to a report by NDTV. He further shared with the reporters that security personnel were stationed at the temple premises already. Seeing the large number of devotees visiting the temple, an increase in crowd, and many attempting to surpass others, police had to deploy more forces to control the situation.

The crowd of devotees waiting to enter the temple and many rushing in between led to a stampede-like condition. Security at the temple took control of the crowd falling apart and prevented the condition from worsening and turning into a full-blown stampede.

Patna District Administration Issued A Statement

The city administration issued a statement following these incidents at the ISKCON temple in Patna. They denied the reports of any stampede at the temple last evening. The statement informed that mild force was used for those devotees who attempted to enter the premises overtaking the police barricades. The situation was brought under control entirely, the statement further read.
