Domestic air connectivity in India is improving day by day. In order to further bolster the domestic air connectivity of India, JettWings has announced that it will soon connect 12 major airports across the country. JettWings is the first airline based in Guwahati and the newest entrant in the Indian aviation industry. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this particular update about domestic flights.

According to an article which was recently published by The Financial Express, the announcement was made on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The airline, which is the first one based out of Guwahati in the Northeast, received approval for flight services across 12 sectors.

These include Bihar, Northeast, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. This means that soon, it will provide connectivity to and from cities like Agra, Bareilly, Cooch Behar, Gaya, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kushinagar and Pakyong.

This move is being taken under the scheme of RCS-UDAN. It stands for Regional Connectivity Scheme – Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik. In the first five years of operation, JettWings Aims to acquire and operate a total of 42 aircraft.

Domestic air connectivity in India is growing by leaps and bounds. Recently, the Dehradun airport also announced that it would be commencing direct flights on three new routes. The Jolly Grant Airport, simply known as the Dehradun Airport, in Uttarakhand’s Dehradun, launched flights to three destinations.

They are Amritsar in Punjab and Ayodhya and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Prior to this, the city had air connectivity to Pithoragarh. It also provided helicopter services to and from Haldwani to various other cities in lieu of other air travel options.

This new move by the airport is hoped to give a boost to the local economy.
