Jio Mumbai Cyclothon: Traffic Diversions In These Areas Announced For Dec 17; See Alt Routes

The “Jio Mumbai Cyclothon Rally” is coming back to Mumbai and will take place in Mumbai’s BKC traffic division. Certain traffic arrangements have been prepared in the areas under the authority of the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Diversions in Bandra, Worli, Dadar, and Mahim traffic divisions are announced for the forthcoming ‘Jio Mumbai Cyclothon’ event. The event is slated to happen on December 17, 2023, between 2:00 and 12:00.

Jio Mumbai Cyclothon: Traffic Diversions

Several categories are created for the rally according to its distance. Starting at the BKC traffic division and ending at the same spot, the 10-kilometre Cyclothon Rally will pass via the Bandra traffic division. Additionally, the MMRDA R-II ground, which is governed by the BKC traffic division, will serve as the starting point for the 25, 50, and 100-kilometer Cyclothon Rallies. 

Following specified routes, these rallies will pass through the divisions of Bandra, Worli, Dadar, and Mahim before reentering the BKC traffic division and ending at the MMRDA R-II field.

All vehicles will not be allowed on certain highways unless they are part of the Cyclothon rally. The route between One BKC’s WeWork Building and NSE Junction will be closed. The same with the Family Court’s direction towards Bharat Nagar. 

Alternatively, cars can go from the WeWork Building to One BKC Junction, then U-turn at that intersection. From there, they can go via the MCA Cricket Club, JioWorld Convention Centre, the American Consulate, Diamond Junction, Nabard Junction, Kherwadi Road, Kanakiya Paris, Saiprasad Hotel, Kherwadi Junction, Bhaskar Court Junction, Kalanagar Junction, MMRDA Junction, and Dharavi T Junction.

 Prabodhankar Thackery Flyover

Regular vehicular traffic would not be able to use the Prabodhankar Thackery flyover bridge to access the southbound Western Express Highway. Alternately, cars can turn left at the Kherwadi Flyover Bridge slope, travel via Kalanagar Junction, Bhaskar Court Junction, Sion Bandra Link Road, and Dharavi T Junction, which would take them to Shivaji Park and Sion in Dadar.

In addition, cars heading towards the Worli Sea Link and Bandra Linking Road would not be allowed to enter from Kalanagar Junction. An alternative route is for cars to turn left at the Kherwadi Flyover Bridge slope, go through Kalanagar Junction and Bhaskar Court Junction, and then continue on to Sion and Shivaji Park in Dadar.

At Lilavati Junction, the road leading from Lilavati Hospital to K.C. Road will be blocked. Alternatively, cars can turn left at Lilavati Junction and travel towards South Mumbai via L.K.  (as per Times Now)

BKC Connector Bridge

Mehta Road, Mahim Causeway Junction, and L.J. Road. The southbound path of Khan Abdul Gafar Khan Road will be blocked from Gafarkhan Junction to J.K. Kapur Chowk. Alternatively, vehicles coming from J.K. Kapur Chowk can take Khan Abdul Gafar Khan Road, turn right at Hardikar Road, and continue towards South Mumbai via Dr. Annie Besant Road.

Likewise, the southbound path of the BKC Connector Bridge in the BKC vicinity will be blocked to all vehicles. Only those taking part in the Cyclothon rally will be permitted. . Vehicles leaving Chunabhatti Traffic Division may instead use the BKC Connector Bridge, Sion, to continue.
