In this episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani sat down and had a long and enlightening conversation with Sadhguru. During the interview, Sadhguru gave us a lot of insightful advice and we got to see how austerely he eats. During the brunch, he offered a bunch of nuts, dry fruits, and sprouted pulses along with a ball of neem and turmeric. Since Kamiya was hungry after the enlightening conversation, she went to the Ashram and enjoyed a silent breakfast.
Kamiya Jani Enjoyed A Silent Breakfast At Isha Yoga Center
This episode of Sunday Brunch was more soulful and spiritual than usual. In case you missed it, we got a chance to sit down with the famous spiritual leader Sadhguru. We spoke to him at length on a number of topics ranging from his early life to the faults of the modern education system.
However, this episode went a bit heavy on the conversation part while going a little lighter on the brunch part. Anyone who saw the interview knows that the meal, if, indeed, one can call it that, was only a handful of nuts and dry fruits. All very nutritious, to be sure, but not very filling.
That is why, after the interview, Kamiya went to the ashram to enjoy a well-deserved brunch in literal peace. In the ashram, there is a strict rule of observing absolute silence. Speaking to anyone is not allowed. This is done so that the eater is more mindful of the process of eating.

Silent Breakfast, Loud Benefits
Eating in silence as a practice has many benefits. It is said to aid in digestion. It is also said that eating in silence helps the body better absorb nutrients from the food than when a person is mindlessly gulping it down.
Eating in this way also heightens the experience of eating food and enables you to be present right where you are. Modern life is hectic as everyone juggles multiple responsibilities at the same time. As such, taking time out and focusing solely on one’s meal can also benefit one mentally as well as physically.
