Karnataka Hikes Safari Prices At 2 Popular Tiger Reserves; What Tourists Must Pay Now

Planning a tiger safari in Karnataka? You may soon have to pay more to spot big cats in the wild. The thrill of a jungle safari has now become costlier at Karnataka’s Bandipur and Nagarahole tiger reserves. Here’s what you now have to shell out to see tigers or simply soak in the jungle experience at these spots.

Tiger Safari Prices Hiked At Karnataka’s Bandipur & Nagarahole Reserves

Watching tigers and leopards in their natural habitat is undoubtedly thrilling, and Karnataka is considered one of the best places in India for a tiger safari. But it has now become costlier! According to Deccan Herald, the wildlife safari prices have been hiked, and the revised tariff has been enforced from September 1, 2026, at Kakanakote, Veeranahosahalli and Nanachi gates. These gates come under two popular tiger reserves: Bandipur Tiger Reserve and Nagarahole Tiger Reserve.

For adults, the cost of a regular bus ride has been increased to ₹1,000 from ₹650. For children, the fare has been hiked to ₹500 from ₹350. The fee for cameras and vehicle parking has also been revised, with 18% GST applicable. The cost has increased because the duration and distance of the tiger safari have been changed, too.

Safari Duration & Distance Have Also Increased

According to The Times of India, previously, the tiger safari in Karnataka operated for 1.5 hours per trip. But now, each trip will last for 2.5 to 3 hours. Moreover, the 15–20 km safari trip has now been extended to 30-35 km. This means wildlife lovers will get more time to discover and spot big cats like tigers and leopards in the wild. The hike in price comes amid rising fuel costs, which make up a substantial part of the safari income.

But yes, earlier, the vehicles were making two trips, but now they will operate only one trip. The changes have been introduced keeping in mind the state government’s latest decision to reduce vehicular traffic inside the jungle and minimise disturbances to wildlife. The authorities also want to reduce the overall movement of safari vehicles inside these reserves.
