Foodies, get ready! 2,000 Kerala dishes are awaiting your presence! Thiruvananthapuram, popularly known as Trivandrum in Kerala, is all set to host a 7-day-long food festival. About 2000 dishes will be included on one of the largest menu cards in the capital city at Keraleeyam 2023. It is all set to tantalize your taste buds from November 1 to November 7. From venue to chefs, here’s everything you need to know.
Keraleeyam 2023: Trivandrum To Host Food Festival
Keraleeyam 2023 will be a food expo at 11 locations, from Manaveeyam Veedhi to East Fort. It will be run by 500 skilled chefs.
According to G. R. Anil, Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, the Keraleeyam Food Mela will be the greatest food fair Kerala has ever had. He was speaking on Thursday during a news conference related to the culinary festival that took place at the Kanakakunnu Palace Hall.
The food expo will feature over 100 stalls offering a range of products, from five-star cuisine to menus from roadside eateries. The majority of the stalls will be run by small business owners who have attempted and succeeded with a variety of dishes.
Up to ten distinctive Kerala delicacies, including Puttu-Kadala, Vanasundari Chicken, Ramassery Idli, and Kuttanadan Pearlspot, will be branded and featured at the culinary mela. A movie demonstrating the origins and cooking of each dish will also be available at each stall. (as per The New Indian Express)
Traditional Delicacies With Cooking Demonstrations
Manaveeyam Veethi features Kerala’s traditional foods, such as “Pazamkanji” and dried fish meals, while the University College stand features ethnic dishes prepared with tubers.
For seven days, the food festival will be a part of the nightlife, turning the road from University College to Vanross Junction into a food street. There will be renowned eateries from the state at the food exhibition.
Popular chefs on social media will also do a live cooking demonstration at the food festival. From November 2 to 6, Suryakanti will host celebrity chefs including Chef Pillai, Abida Rasheed, Feroze Chuttipara, Pazhayidam Mohanan Namboothiri, and Kishore, who will showcase their culinary techniques. The food fair’s brand ambassadors will be well-known food vloggers. (as per The New Indian Express)

The food festival: Keraleeyam 2023 will also feature departments such as Kudumbashree, Cooperation, Fisheries, Dairy Development, and Scheduled Tribe Development.
From November 1 to November 7, as part of the Keraleeyam celebration, an exhibition on the history of women in Kerala, their struggle, tolerance, and representations at different ages will be held. The event in Thiruvananthapuram’s Ayyankali Hall, hosted by the Kerala Women Development Corporation, is curated by Sajitha Madathil.
In the Kattakada assembly constituency on Sunday, 1,001 people are expected to see a huge Thiruvathirakali. The gathering and participation of the women’s associations from six panchayats within the constituency will take place at the Kattakada Christian College grounds. (as per The New Indian Express)
