Ganeshotsav in Maharashtra is an experience one should never miss; it brings a different energy to the state. Every year during this festival, a huge crowd of devotees gathers to seek blessings at the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple. Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati is one of the revered idols in Maharashtra. This time, the bakery brand, The Cake Craving, offered a 133-kg modak cake as mahaprasad to Lord Dagdusheth. 133-Kg Modak Cake Mahaprasad For Lord Dagdusheth

During Ganesotsav, hordes of devotees visit Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple in Pune. This year, it was a bit different from usual because a bakery brand, The Cake Craving, prepared a 133-kg Modak Cake to offer as mahaprasad to Lord Dadgusheth. As we know, modak has always been the favourite of Lord Ganesh, and the giant cake became a symbol of people’s devotion.

A huge crowd gathered to witness the massive modak cake. It was beautifully and neatly packed in the bakery’s box. Several authorities came forward to help lift the giant cake and carefully deliver it in front of Lord Dagdusheth. Even the bakery brand took to their social media handle to give a glimpse of the cake, and honestly, it indeed looked like a treat we never get to witness daily. The sponge and cream were stacked carefully to give the cake a tall and modak shape. On top of it, the bakery added white frosting, giving it a neat touch.

About Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati

After losing their only son, Shri Dagdusheth Halwai and his wife Lakshmibai established a Lord Ganesha idol at the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai temple. When Lokmanya Tilak declared Ganeshotsav as a public celebration, Shri Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati temple became one of the most famous places for devotees to seek blessings. 

The prasad offered at this temple is considered sacred, and people feel fortunate and blessed to receive it. Recently, for those who were unable to visit and receive the blessings of Lord Dagdusheth, the Shri Dagdusheth Halwai temple decided to deliver the prasad to their homes for one day.
