On this episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met with the stars of Netflix’s thriller show ‘Killer Soup’. The talented actors, Konkona Sen and Manoj Bajpayee talked about filming together, bonded over food and played some killer games with nonstop laughter. Things got more engaging as we had a Bengali, Konkona, and a Bihari, Manoj, on board. Read on.
Konkona Sen And Manoj Bajpayee Translated These Bollywood Dialogues In Their Mother Tongue
To make things interesting, we played a fun game of translating some of the most iconic Bollywood dialogues into their respective native tongues. Our guests were ready to smash this challenge and so were we. Be ready for some lol-ing as we are comparing one of the sweetest languages to one of the most aggressive languages in India!
We began with “Rishte mein to hum tumhare baap lagte hain aur naam hai Shohenshah” and Manoj took the first translation in an excellent bihari accent as, “Suno, rishte mein toh hum tumhar baap lage aur humara naam hai Shahenshah!” It was Konkona’s turn and she answered in the most precious voice ever!
The translation was, “Shomporko ae toh ami tomar baba, aur amar naam Shohenshah.” It was an absolute laughter riot and Sen looked into the camera and commented, “Please forgive me Bachchan!” We say Mr. Bachchan or Shohenshah is married to a Bengali and will surely understand.

The next option was “Hum jahan khade ho jaate hain, line wahi se shuru hoti hain” and Manoj said, “Jahan hum khada ho jaaye hain, line wahi se shuru chala hato.” Again Konkona’s sweet Bengali voice came out with, “Ami jae khane dara bo shei khane line shuru hobe.”
Kamiya remarked on how sweet the Bengali language is! On hearing this, the Bengali actor pulled Manoj’s leg on how he wasn’t being praised for this mother tongue!
It Doesn’t Stop!

Kamiya gave them, “Kitne aadmi the?” He repeated the same with a Bihari accent. This is when Konkana pointed out that she is doing more translation as Bihari is quite similar to Hindi. Then she translated the above dialogue as, ”Koto gulo lok chilo?”
Next was the iconic dialogue, “Haar kar jeetne wale ko baazigar kehte hai.” Konkana shared, “Hare jara jeete jaye, tader bole baazigor.” And the bihari babu again translated it with his native accent.
