Korean & Japanese Cities To Come Up Near Noida As Part Of YEIDA’s Latest Development Project; All About It

What if we tell you that Noida will soon have a Japanese and Korean city within its borders? Sounds quite unbelievable, doesn’t it? Well, it is quite true. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority (YEIDA) has decided to build Japanese and Korean industrial cities. They have kept aside two sectors to set up industrial offices for companies from these countries. These sectors will be just 10 kilometres from the Noida International Airport in Jewar, boasting international connectivity of these industrial cities.

As per reports, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Authority (YEIDA) has decided to build Japanese and Korean industrial cities in the district. Each of these industrial cities will be built in a sector dedicated solely to them and will have manufacturing units and offices of companies from the country. As of now, it has been decided that Sector 5A in the Yamuna Expressway will have the Japanese city while Sector 4A will have the Korean one.

These cities will also have housing areas for their foreign staff, adding to the residential aspect of these cities. These sectors are also within a 10-kilometre radius of the upcoming Jewar International Airport. This will further increase the international connectivity of these cities. As per YEIDA, these cities will be electronic hubs.

While talking to the Times of India, Arun Vir Singh, CEO of YEIDA said that these cities will have firms for manufacturing chips, AI equipment, semiconductors, and cameras. He further added that these cities will be “self-sufficient with provisions for housing, schools, hospitals, and other essential amenities for the Japanese and Korean citizens staying there.”

Ahead of the UP Global Investors Summit last year, the decision to build these cities was agreed on with the Japanese and Korean investors. In fact, their representatives even visited the industrial sectors. To make these cities electronic hubs, companies from Japan and Korea will set up their industrial offices there.

This massive project is expected to be developed at a cost of ₹2,544 crore. These Korean and Japanese cities will see 70% of land use for core industry and 13% for commercial use. Furthermore, around 10% and 5% will be set aside for residential needs and institutional purposes, respectively.
