The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority or YEIDA is all set to construct a city on the outskirts of Agra. This particular city will be spread across a whopping 10,500 hectares of land. The land which will be developed into a city is located along the Yamuna Expressway. Here are all the details that you would need to know about this particular upcoming city on the outskirts of Agra.

According to an article recently published by the Kashmir Convener, this is the first time that YEIDA has decided to develop the land located along the expressway in the region of Agra since its establishment in the year 2001 on April 24. At the time, it was aimed that the regions between Greater Noida and Agra would be developed and industries that generate employment would be set up there.

The new upcoming city that is being developed on 10,500 hectares of land with the primary aim of boosting tourism. It will also set up manufacturing industries which will help generate employment. An urban area complete with residential centres will also be developed in the city. The article also stated that around two lakh hectares were notified unde YEIDA.

These include around 1,187 villages located in the six districts of Agra, Aligarh, Bulandshahar, Gautam Budh Nagar and Hathras as well as Mathura. However, out of the two lakh hectares, the authorities only received around 20,000 hectares. What is more, as per the statement made by the CEO of YEIDA, once the plan is approved by the board, the process of acquiring the land will begin.

This ambitious project is the first of its kind in the Agra region by YEIDA. It aims at harbouring job creation, urban development, and industrial set-up. It will encourage tourism and promote the growth of the economy through this project. The board meeting in which the development plans will be evaluated will take place at the end of November this year.

According to an article by Times Property, out of the 10,500 hectares of land, 25 per cent will be allocated to setting up green industries. 20 per cent of the land will be used for residential development. 17 per cent will be used for recreational spaces like parks and seven per cent will be allocated for tourism. As per the current plan, the present aim for project development will be by 2031.
