In an unfortunate incident that happened on Thursday morning, a Karnataka RTC sleeper bus travelling from Kozhikode to Bengaluru met with an accident on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway. The accident took place in Bidadi, Ramanagara and ended up injuring several passengers. Due to the impact of the accident, the front windshield of the bus was completely shattered and severely injured the bus driver and conductor.
Karnataka RTC Kozhikode-Bengaluru Bus Met With Accident
A Karnataka RTC sleeper bus that was travelling from Kozhikode to Bengaluru met with an accident. The unfortunate incident took place at around 3:45 AM on Thursday morning near Bidadi, Ramanagara. The AC sleeper bus had, reportedly, left from Kozhikode at around 10:15 PM on Wednesday night. The impact of the accident resulted in the shattering of the front windshield of the bus and ended up injuring many passengers.
According to a report in Mathrubhumi, the bus was travelling on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway when the accident took place. The bus ended up hitting a roadside signboard while trying to turn towards the bypass from the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway. Due to the speed of the bus, the vehicle was severely damaged.
The Preliminary report also suggests that the bus driver fell asleep while driving. Since it was an early morning bus, it is suspected that the driver veered off the road and hit the signboard because he had fallen asleep. Although, nothing can be confirmed without further investigation.

Several People Reported Injured After The Accident
The collision of the Karnataka RTC Kozhikode-Bengaluru bus with the signboard ended up severely damaging the front portion of the bus. The windshield was completely broken and several people sustained injuries. Thankfully, no passenger was severely hurt and the ones seated on the back escaped unharmed. Unfortunately, the bus driver and the conductor took the worst hit. As per Mathrubhumi’s report, they are both critical and were immediately taken to a hospital in Bidadi for medical assistance.
We hope for the speedy recovery of the injured people and hope that the authorities look into the matter and figure out the cause of this accident soon.
