Lambasingi is known as Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh thanks to its cosy, chilly weather. The temperature here dropped to zero and tourists from across India have been flocking here ever since to make those most of winter. So pack your jackets, socks, mufflers and travel to South India’s winter abode.

What’s In It?

Lambasingi is located in the Vishakapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. This village recorded temperatures based on the mercury levels at the Automatic Weather Station (AWS) and at the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) at Chintapalli. As of January 2012 and December 2018, Lambasingi recorded the lowest temperature of 1.50 Degree Celcius. On the basis of these temperature readings, Lambasingi was estimated at zero degrees this winter. It’s even witnessed gorgeous snowfall over the years.

This pleasant weather has attracted a large number of tourists from across India. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) even has a tent accommodation for travellers. Private firms too, have four tent accommodations set up. Even though this tiny winter village has a long way to go when it comes to tourism, the locals are trying to take tiny steps to welcome visitors in the form of homestays.

It’s interesting to know that Lambasingi is popularly known by the locals as ‘Korra Bayalu’. This means if someone stays out in the open they will freeze like a stick.
