One such Bollywood film is ‘3 idiots’ whose climax was shot in Pangong Tso and since then this lake became a must-visit here. 1. Yarab Tso
Nestled in the Nubra valley, Yarab Tso is one of the most unexplored places here. The locals actually consider it to be a holy and sacred lake. Surrounded by mountain peaks, Yarab Tso is also known as the ‘Wish Pond’ and bathing or swimming here is strictly prohibited here. To reach this lake, you need to cover a distance of almost 180 km by a drive from Leh. Also, to reach the ultimate destination, visitors need to go for an easy hike of 15 minutes.

2. Mirpal Tso
Have you ever explored an emerald green lake? If not, then you have to visit ‘Mirpal Tso’ in Ladakh. Surrounded by black mountains, visiting this lake is one of a kind experience. The spectacular views and the serenity around will simply mesmerise you. Reaching this place is an adventure in itself. After a ride of almost 205 km from Leh, you will be required to hike the last part to reach the lake. Also, a point to remember before visiting here is that you will need a special permit from the DC office in Leh to cover the route in between.

3. Lang Tso and Stat Tso
There is so much to explore in Ladakh but some of the most stunning places here are the twin lakes. ‘Lang Tso and Stat Tso’ are the twin lakes that are nestled at the highest point in the Zanskar region. This place seems to be covered with a blanket of snow-capped mountains and spectacular views of the lakes and surroundings. The reflection of the snow-capped mountains on the pristine waters is nothing less than picturesque views. Visitors can even choose to do camping here. The best time to explore these twin lakes of Ladakh will be between June to September.
