Londoners! Good news for you! In order to avoid congestion at railway stations and to prevent long queues, brand-new technology is being implemented. This new technology incorporates facial recognition that will let Eurostar passengers clear their security check in a jiffy. This new measure will not only save passengers time, but it will also reduce the number of people crowding at the station. Here are all the details you need to know about this new exciting feature.
London’s Eurostar Passengers To Get Faster Security Check
St. Pancras International Railway Station connects London in the United Kingdom to countries like Belgium, France, and the Netherlands. Hence, it takes up a considerable amount of time to carry out security checks for passengers travelling internationally by train.
However, Eurostar passengers departing from London will no longer have to worry about waiting in long lines. New facial recognition technology will enable passengers to get through their security checks in just a jiffy.
This system, which is known as SmartCheck, is developed by iProov. It will be available to passengers who are travelling via Business Premier or Carte Blanche. It seems that congestion is an ongoing issue at St. Pancras International. Hence, this new technology will aid immensely in solving the issue.

Measure Taken To Avoid Congestion
Even though it will enable quick security checks, it should be noted that the inspection of baggage will still be carried out manually by the officials and staff of security. Furthermore, according to an article recently published by The Independent, French officials, too, will continue checking passports.
In order to avail of this facility, passengers must install an app and, prior to the commencement of their journey, must upload their identity-related documents in order to verify their face. Upon reaching the railway station, they must then walk up to a screen which scans their face.
Once approved, passengers may continue with their journey. Recently, news came to light that owing to crowding at St. Pancras, Eurostar was forced to leave many of its seats empty. In order to find a better solution, this measure is being undertaken.
