This time, Anand Mahindra lauded Tiruchirappalli Airport’s new terminal and even stated it looks wonderful. Read on to know more about it.

Anand Mahindra Is In Awe Of Tiruchirappalli Airport’s New Terminal

Taking to X, Mahindra reposted pictures of Tiruchirappalli Airport’s new terminal. He stated that the new terminal goes live on June 11 and said it looked wonderful. He appreciated the fact that the new terminal laid emphasis on local culture and this was showcased through its beautiful design elements. Moreover, he hopes to see India’s young new minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapuset new records in the creation of new and modern airports across the country.

The integrated terminal of Tiruchirappalli Airport or Trichy Airport in Tamil Nadu became operational on Tuesday morning. Ground staff at Trichy Airport welcomed the first flight to land at the new terminal with water cannons, signifying new beginnings. It was an IndiGo flight from Chennai. According to a report by TOI, measures have been taken to smoothen the transition of both domestic and international flights from the airport’s old terminal to the new terminal.

Moreover, this airport’s new terminal is spread across an impressive 75,000 square metres. And it was developed at a cost of ₹1,112 crores. With two levels for arrivals and departures, it has the capacity to handle 4.45 million passengers per year. Interestingly, its parking area has facilities to charge electric vehicles, giving the airport a futuristic approach. Trichy Airport received a Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment (GRIHA). It got 4 stars out of 5.

The designs of the new terminal building have captured hearts on the Internet. The art styles ranging from Kolam art to motifs of Srirangam Temple, showcase India’s relationship with the rest of the glove. It’s vibrant, rich and intriguing. A total of 100 artists worked on these artworks for 30 days to bring it to light. With operations slowly shifting to the new terminal, travelling to and from Tiruchirappalli Airport will be a breath of fresh air.
