In the first week of “The Tortured Poets Department’s” release in the United States, pop sensation Taylor Swift sold 2.61 million album and streaming units, according to a report published by Billboard. According to Billboard, which cited figures from Luminate, traditional album sales in the week ending April 25 reached 1.91 million between digital download albums, CDs, cassettes, and vinyl sales.
The album had an impressive debut with 891.34 million official on-demand streaming. The record earned the best streaming week ever for an album and the best sales week for a vinyl album in modern times. Additionally, it is 2024’s best-selling album to date.

On April 19, Taylor Swift released the first 16 songs from her album “Poets.” She shocked fans by revealing it was a double CD with 15 additional songs two hours later.
