Every few days, we hear about flights being delayed or cancelled. But on Sunday morning, the situation was tense as an IndiGo flight had to make an emergency landing in Lucknow following a bomb threat. Passengers travelling from Delhi to Bagdogra were safely evacuated. Scroll down to know more!

IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing

Due to a bomb threat, the IndiGo flight made an emergency landing in Lucknow. The threat was discovered through a handwritten note found inside the aircraft. Police officials said the note was written on a tissue paper and placed in the toilet. Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma confirmed that the message claimed a bomb was on board. After discovering the note, the crew members immediately took action. They quickly informed authorities, and the flight was cleared for an emergency landing.

According to News24, following the necessary safety protocols, the plane landed safely at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow around 9:17 am. After the safe landing, the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay away from the main terminal for security checks. Bomb disposal squads, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, and local police quickly reached the location and surrounded the plane to conduct a thorough inspection.

All passengers and crew were evacuated safely. Authorities said the situation is being closely monitored, and verification of the threat is ongoing. IndiGo airline has not yet released a detailed statement on the incident.

This is not the first such incident in recent months. Around Christmas, a bomb threat email was sent to the customer support address of Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
