Maha Kumbh: For ₹1100, A Man Dips Passport Pics Of Devotees In Sangam Water; Claims ‘Digital Snan’ Will Purify Their Souls

Maha Kumbh in 2025 is the world’s largest spiritual gathering. The exceptionally rare astronomical alignment of the Sun, Moon, Saturn and Jupiter with the Pushya Nakshatra constellation makes it a once-in-144-year event. Crores of people from across India and the globe have already visited Prayagraj to take a holy dip in the river Ganga and seek blessings from the divine. But there are many others who couldn’t make it and might be feeling FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). Cashing in on the sentiment, an entrepreneur in Prayagraj claims to give devotees ‘Digital Snan’ and help them purify their souls.

Man Offers ‘Digital Snan’ Services To People Who Couldn’t Make It To Maha Kumbh

Digital creator Akash Banerjee, known for his political and satirical posts on Instagram, surprised his followers with an amusing video on February 21. A reel shared by Banerjee shows a man named Deepak Goyal from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, who claims to offer ‘Digital Photo Snan’ services to people who couldn’t make it to Maha Kumbh this year.

He explains the process of getting a ‘Digital Snan’. Devotees need to send their passport pictures to him on WhatsApp. Goyal then prints physical copies of the photographs. Then, he arrives at the Sangam (the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati) and dips the photographs in the holy water.

The entrepreneur has his own company, Prayagraj Enterprises that offers these services to devotees. Goyal charges ₹1100 for the service. Once the amount is credited to his account, within a 24-hour window the entrepreneur claims to dip your photographs in the Sanga, water in the Maha Kumbh Mela.

Business Proposal Amuses Netizens

Taking a holy dip in Sangam water during Maha Kumbh is said to wash away one’s sins, cleanse the soul and lead them to spiritual liberation. Goyal with his ‘Digital Snan’ service claims to digitally help people take a holy dip if they aren’t able to travel to Prayagraj to do this in person.

This business idea amused netizens. Some wanted him to pitch his business proposal to the sharks at Shark Tank. Another person admitted to having a similar idea to Goyal. A person even claimed that jobs like this were only possible in India.
