Maharashtra Reintroduces E-Pass System For Emergency Inter-State And Inter-District Travel Amid Curfew

Despite the lockdown-like curbs in the state, Maharashtra has been seeing a massive curb in cases. To contain further spread of the deadly virus, the government has imposed stricter rules. Apart from limiting the hours of essential shops in the state, the government has announced stricter curbs. The new restrictions under the government’s ‘Break- the-Chain’ programme will come into effect from today and will remain effective till 1 May. The fresh set of restrictions include reserving use of public and private transport among other things. Maharashtra State Police also reintroduced the e-pass system on April 23 or inter-state and inter-district travel.

E-pass Mandatory For Inter-State & Inter-District Travel In Maharashtra

Maharashtra has reimposed the e-pass system for people wanting to travel inter-state and inter-district. Maharashtra DGP Sanjay Pandey stated “The e-pass system has been reintroduced from Friday and citizens should use it in case of absolute emergency.” To apply for the e-pass visit https://covid19.mhpolice.in/  Then submit all your necessary documents and inform the reason for your emergency travel. For online e-passes visit the nearest police station. The police shall help you fill the form and issue the e-pass.
