The summer season is unbearable in most parts of India. The intolerable heat, sweaty people, and heat waves among many make our lives almost miserable in those months. But there are a few things that help us to enjoy the season to some extent and one of our favourite fruits to eat in the summer is fresh mangoes. And how can we spend this season without relishing yummy mango lassi? Well, the creamy drink has not only won Indians’ hearts but also received worldwide recognition.

Drumroll, please! One of our favourite summer seasonal drinks has ranked top on the charts of the best dairy beverage in the world. Isn’t this a proud moment? Mango Lassi achieved the first rank in the 2023-24 awards released by TasteAtlas, a food and travel guide based in Croatia. Hundreds and thousands of drinks from different parts of the globe enlisted their names to feature on this list but only 16 could make it to the finally released list.

Rich in the creamy texture of curd and the deliciousness of mangoes, this lassi is such a refreshing and appetising drink to enjoy. Our love for this drink is mutual and the comment section of the Instagram post shows that perfectly.

Here’s How You Can Make This At Home

Making Mango Lassi is an easy-peasy task and even beginners can do it quite easily. On the YouTube channel ‘Sanjeev Kapoor Khazana’, Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi shared a recipe to make this cooler drink.


  • 1 cup Alphonso Mango Pulp
  • 1 cup Yogurt (thick consistency)
  • Pinch of Green Cardamom Powder
  • Slices of 2 Pistachios
  • Slices of 2 Almonds
  • 1½ tbsp Grated Khoya or Grated Mawa
  • 1½ tbsp sugar

  • Take a mixer grinder jar and add yogurt, mango pulp, sugar, and green cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Once done, pour it into a glass and garnish it with sliced dry fruits and some khoya or mawa.
