However, for the first time ever, Meghalaya has launched a Digital Lottery Programme in India. Dubbed the ‘EasyLottery’ this programme is touted to revolutionise the lottery scene in India. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this particular lottery programme.
Meghalaya Launches The Very First Digital Lottery In India
According to an article which was recently published by The Shillong Times, the announcement for this digital lottery was made at a function in New Delhi. The website for the same also went live on the same date. The tickets for this lottery will cost ₹5,000 and the grand first price is a whopping ₹50 crore.
As per the article, as many as 2.6 lakh tickets will be sold. If reports are to go, this particular digital lottery will revolutionise the lottery scene in India. As per officials, up until now, there were not many streamlined lotteries in India.
EasyLottery aims to make the entire process, from buying tickets to disbursement of the winnings way more transparent and streamlined. In addition to this, everything is done digitally which makes the process all the more convenient for all involved.
First Draw Of The Lottery Will Be Held On November 10, 2024
The very first draw round will be held on November 10, 2024. One has to wonder about the need for the programme. Sure, it offers a fractional chance of winning, however, the lottery might not be a solution to the number of real problems that are currently plaguing the state.
It is hoped that the government will soon launch other more useful programmes soon too.
