Meghalaya is all set to host a festival dedicated to strawberries! Yes, you read that right. The Meghalaya Strawberry Festival 2026 will be held across three key farming clusters. If this festival has made you curious and eager to attend, scroll down to know all the details right now!

Meghalaya To Host A Strawberry Festival This Year!

The Government of Meghalaya is organising the Meghalaya Strawberry Festival 2026 across Smit, Sohliya, and Tura. The festival aims to highlight the state’s expanding strawberry cultivation. Not just that, the festival will also help create direct market access for farmers during the peak season.

The festival will be held at Smit Village (Wah-Iing-Syiem Meadows, East Khasi Hills District) from February 25-28, 2026, followed by events at Sohliya (Football Ground, Umsning, Ri-Bhoi District) and Darechikgre in Tura (West Garo Hills District) from March 4-7, 2026. 

During the festival, visitors will be able to take part in strawberry picking, farm visits, and tasting sessions. This sounds amazing, right? Imagine yourself surrounded by fresh strawberries that you can pick and taste!

Live Music, Food Stalls And More 

Wait, there’s more! Live performances will also be held by artists supported under the Chief Minister’s Meghalaya Grassroots Music Program. You can enjoy live performances, enjoy delicious food, and have lots of fun while immersing yourself in the rich culture of Meghalaya. 

Apart from these fun activities, participating farmers will also benefit. The festival will act as a platform for them to sell fresh strawberries, jams, juices, desserts, and other processed items. The Meghalaya Strawberry Festival 2026 will surely help strengthen buyer-farmer linkages while promoting local entrepreneurship and agro-tourism in the state.
