Taking a major step towards road safety, Ajman has introduced the advanced Speed-Limiter System. This system has been introduced for taxis and limousines, and it also happens to be a first-of-its-kind initiative in the UAE. As it happens, the Ajman Transport Authority has already begun installing dynamic devices, and here’s all you need to know about this development.
Ajman Transport Authority Introduces Speed Limiter System
Gulf News, in its report, revealed how Ajman Transport Authority has finally begun installing dynamic devices. These devices would automatically adjust vehicle speed according to the area’s speed limit. Yes, this is the first-of-its-kind advanced speed-limiter system that has been introduced in the UAE. As it happens, the system would be linked to the GPS and smart mapping platform.
How Will This Be Beneficial?

With this, the system would regulate speed in real time and even continuously update data to a central command centre. As a result, the vehicles would stay within safe limits across different zones. It should be noted that the rollout is being done in phases, as mentioned in the same report by the Gulf News. So, with there being continuous monitoring, this aims to evaluate performance and to ensure that there is long-term success on the emirate’s roads. With the installation of these speed-limiter devices, it is expected that road hazards will be reduced.

Another Important Development From Ajman
At this point, it’s worth mentioning that Ajman has become the first emirate in the country to bring this type of system into use. It should also be noted that this development comes at a time when the Ajman Department of Finance recently revealed smart payment services at GITEX Global 2025. This signals its bid to position the emirate at the forefront of digital government finance solutions, as revealed in The Arabian Post. The offerings would include integration of the national payment card, Jaywan, a unified financial management platform called Estidama system, and a buy-now-pay-later option through the AjmanPay portal.
So, with the emirate going all out in developing and implementing new initiatives, it’s not wrong to say that it’s trying its best to make life easier for people.
