There have been many new developments from the UAE in the past few hours. From the minor fire on the other facade of the Burj Al Arab to the debris from intercepted drones falling on the Zayed International Airport, there are many new developments. So, here’s a look at some important updates from the UAE that you might have missed.

UAE Updates In The Past Few Hours

1. Dubai Authority Confirms Jebel Ali Port Fire

As revealed by the Dubai Media Office, the authorities have confirmed that the debris that resulted from the interception of a drone had caused fire at one of the berths at the Jebel Ali Port. However, the Dubai Civil Defence teams were quick to respond, and they were on the spot to extinguish the fire. As it happens, no injuries had been reported.

2. Burj Al Arab Outer Facade Catches Minor Fire

The outer facade of the Burj Al Arab caught minor fire after a drone was intercepted. With the quick response from the Civil Defence team, this incident was immediately brought under control.

3. Dubai International Airport Concourse Sustains Damage

A concourse at the Dubai International Airport sustained minor damage in an incident, but this was quickly contained. The emergency response teams had immediately been deployed. As reported by the Dubai Media Office, four staff were injured, and they received prompt medical attention. Since the contingency plan was already in place, most of the terminals had previously been cleared of passengers.

4. Drone Debris Falls On Zayed International Airport

As a drone which was targeting the Zayed International Airport had been intercepted, its debris fell onto the airport. This resulted in the fatality of one Asian national, and seven people sustained injuries. This was confirmed by the Abu Dhabi Airports.

5. Abu Dhabi Authorities Urge Public To Avoid Debris Sites

The public in Abu Dhabi has been urged to stay away from any locations where there may be debris or suspicious objects, as these could have fallen. So residents have been urged not to approach or photograph such sites.

6. Flights In The UAE Remain Suspended

Flights across the UAE continue to remain suspended. For instance, Etihad Airways has announced that its flights to and from are going to remain suspended until March 2nd, 2 AM. However, it has also announced that guests who are booked until this date can rebook their flights for free of charge. Emirates announces flight suspension until 3 PM, and flydubai has also announced the same.
