Dubai RTA has announced that public parking will be free on Friday, which is on August 28th. After all, it has been declared a holiday for the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. This fee exemption applies to all public spaces except for multi-storey parking facilities. Parking fees will, however, resume on August 29th, Saturday, as revealed by the Dubai RTA. The authority has also mentioned that there will be changes to public transport and other services during the holiday.
There’s Also A Change In Timings
Coming to the changes to public transport, it was announced by the Dubai RTA that the Dubai Metro’s Green Line and Red Line will be operating from 5 AM on Friday until 1 AM on the following day. However, the Dubai Tram will be operating from 6 AM on Friday until 1 AM of next day. Not only this, the Customer Happiness Centres of the RTA and vehicle testing services will also remain closed during the holiday.

Public Advised To Check S’hail App
However, it’s worth mentioning that some selected centres will continue to remain open. Coming to the public bus service, it has been advised by the RTA that passengers need to check the S’hail App for the updated schedules. Moreover, Dubai RTA also mentioned that E100 will not operate from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station until August 30th. So, it has advised passengers to use the E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi.
Coming to Prophet Muhammad’s birthday, it is celebrated on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-Awwal. It is known as Mawlid al-Nabi, and Muslims around the world celebrate the day with communal prayers, religious poetry, reading, and charity.
