Dubai’s retail map is getting another big pin. Dubai Retail, part of Dubai Holding Asset Management, has unveiled Skylight Mall, a new super-regional shopping and lifestyle destination on Al Khail Road, set to open in 2027. The announcement was shared through the Dubai Media Office, adding another major name to the emirate’s growing line-up of mega malls.

What We Know About Skylight Mall

Skylight Mall will span 1.3 million sq ft of gross leasable area, which is the space available for retailers and other tenants, and will feature more than 360 stores. That is the kind of scale that turns a mall into a full-day plan rather than a quick errand.

The project is being positioned as a super-regional shopping and lifestyle destination, although Dubai Retail has not yet revealed the full mix of brands, restaurants, entertainment venues or other attractions.

Where It Fits In Dubai’s Mall Scene

The new development adds to Dubai Retail’s existing network of 58 malls and lifestyle destinations across the emirate. Skylight Mall will sit alongside these destinations as another large-scale retail project.

Its location on Al Khail Road also places it along one of Dubai’s major road corridors, potentially making it accessible to residents across several parts of the city once it opens.

What We Don’t Know Yet

Details about the tenant line-up are still to be announced. Dubai Retail has not confirmed which fashion, beauty, dining, entertainment or lifestyle brands will take space at the mall.

There is also no confirmed opening month. For now, 2027 is the only timeline that has been shared. Any tenant lists or opening dates circulating online should therefore be treated with caution until they are officially confirmed.

What It Could Mean For Shoppers

For residents, a destination with more than 360 stores could bring another major shopping option to Al Khail Road. The eventual dining and entertainment line-up will also determine whether Skylight Mall becomes a place people visit for a specific purchase or spend an entire day at.

For visitors, it adds another large-scale destination to Dubai’s already extensive shopping scene. Whether Skylight Mall eventually leans more towards fashion, dining, entertainment or a mix of all three will become clearer as more details emerge.

What To Watch Next

The next major announcements are expected to reveal the mall’s first tenant names, dining and entertainment concepts and a confirmed opening date.

Details about parking, public transport access and other visitor facilities are also yet to be announced. Dubai Retail is expected to share more information as the project progresses.
